
Summer of Staycation Update: Minnesota’s Hotel Occupancy Rises Year-over-Year in July 2025
MINNEAPOLIS, MN | August 25, 2025 – Hospitality Minnesota is pleased to announce positive lodging performance for July 2025, with Minnesota's hotel occupancy showing a notable increase compared to the same period last year.
According to the latest STR Report, Minnesota's hotel occupancy rate in July 2025 was 67.4%. This represents a 2.3% increase from the state's occupancy rate of 65.1% in July 2024. While the state's occupancy rate was higher year-over-year, it was 0.8% lower than the overall U.S. occupancy rate of 68.2% for July 2025.
Key highlights from the July 2025 report include:
- Bloomington reported the highest occupancy rate in the state at 78.8%.
- The Minneapolis South Area and Duluth both had an occupancy rate of 73.2% in July 2025.
- Statewide, the RevPAR (Revenue Per Available Room) in July 2025 was $102.03, which is $5.59 higher than July 2024's RevPAR of $96.44.
- Statewide ADR (Average Daily Rate) in July 2025 was $151.38, which is $3.29 higher than July 2024's ADR of $148.09.
